The following topical preparations can reduce the risk of wound infection and overgrown scars.
- Silicone/ hypochlorous acid gel
- Topical vitamin B3 cream/serum
- Massage with Bio-Oil
Vitamin E has not been shown to offer any significant benefit to wound healing and scarring, and in fact it may increase the risk of skin inflammation.
