Mole mapping (photography only, no medical examination)

Up to 30 photographs documenting moles and other spots over most of the body. This service consists of photography only. This service is not a substitute for a screening examination by a doctor or nurse. Your skin will not be examined for cancers by a doctor or nurse.

Photos are stored in MoleScope, a shared medical record which allows you to view and download your photos. Once your photos are in MoleScope, you can use the MoleScope app to take more photos, including your own mole mapping images.

The discount fee is offered to:

  • children under 18
  • pensioners
  • Health Care Card holders

Note: You must present a current and valid Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card when you attend for your appointment.

Discounts are offered at our discretion and may be withheld for patients who have previously missed appointments or cancelled at late notice.

Medicare rebate

Nil

There is no Medicare rebate for the service of mole mapping photography.

Private health insurance

Some private health insurers pay for mole mapping as part of an extras package. We recommend that you check with your insurer as this varies widely according to the individual insurer and the policy.
